A Greendale man who allegedly tried to kill his father with a knife will remain in custody following a brief appearance in court today.
Hector Bruno is accused of attempting to murder his father, also named Hector Bruno at a Greendale property in July this year.
Bruno’s solicitor said the accused is aged in his 40’s and has no prior criminal history.
He said the incident occurred “totally out of the blue” and that his client would be seeking further psychiatric assessment prior to going forward with the matter.
Bruno is charged with attempted murder.
Magistrate Gregory Robinson remanded the accused to appear in Ballarat Magistrates’ Court via videolink for a committal mention in March 2018.
