Travelling salesman home invasion

By Jessica Howard

Moorabool CIU are searching for a suspect in a home invasion that occurred in Daylesford last month.

An unknown male attended a Hill Street property at approximately 6:30pm on Tuesday November 14 and attempted to sell solar panels to a female complainant.

The male was wearing a Green Clean Energy Insignia shirt. After the female complainant refused to buy anything, the male left the front of the premises.

Between 10:45am and 11:30am the following day, a male occupant of the Hill Street property was inside the house when an unknown male, believed to be the same man as the day before, entered the house from the back door.

The unknown male walked into the hallway as the male complainant was walking towards him.

Police said when the unknown male saw the owner of the house, he retreated and left the house via the back door.

The offender is believed to be of African appearance with a slim build, darkish coloured close-cropped hair and approximately 5’8” tall.

The man who attended the property on the first evening was carrying a clipboard, with information relating to selling solar panels to the same house.

The image attached is a computer generated image of the man’s face, which is said to be 60 per cent likeness.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
