There’s a big difference between ‘consultation’ and ‘briefings’ and Moorabool Shire Council is making that very clear to Maddingley Brown Coal.
A spokesperson for MBC recently told the Moorabool News it had requested ‘consultation’ meetings with council as far back as October last year.
It came after the Moorabool News asked the spokesperson if MBC was avoiding community consultation by applying for the planning minister to ‘call-in’ its proposal to house toxic soil from the West Gate Tunnel project, effectively removing council from the process.
