Windfarm Power Line
In the 1980s the Victorian Government, through the State Electricity Commission (SEC), decided to upgrade the Newport Power station. This project required an above ground 330 kV high voltage power transmission line to deliver energy to the North Melbourne terminal.
There was a huge outcry from those along the planned route because of the intrusive nature of the pylons and cables.
